The Gerontology Center and the Modern Languages Dept. are hosting a conference on "Meeting the needs of Latino eldery. The conferene is funded by the College Lectures Committee, open to the public and offers continuing education credits.
Participants will learn where to get the resources that the state offers to Latino elders on health, and community assistance; explore the reasons for social isolation of Hispanic elders in Rhode Island, become familiar with the benefits and Long-Term Care Medicaid eligibility of the Right @ Home Program of Caregivers Home RI; and understand the benefits and services available to assist Latino families who have relatives with Alzheimer's disease.
