Discussion with Carol Smoleski, Executive Director of End Child Prostitution Child Pornography & Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT)

The subject of childhood sexual abuse is a pressing issue in contemporary society and of paramount importance in this country and globally.  According to ECPAT “There are as many as 1.8 million children exploited in prostitution or pornography worldwide and human trafficking alone as an illegal industry generates billions of US dollars. It is believed that nearly 80% of all trafficking worldwide is for sexual exploitation, with over 20% of the victims children.”

As Executive Director of ECPAT, Carole Smoleski will speak to the problem of child sexual abuse and trafficking both in the US and globally and also point to strategies to eliminate this abuse, including EPCAT’s Safe Harbor program
